The problem
Someone asks for a copy of your card on WhatsApp. Sending the full number to a stranger is how people get defrauded, and UIDAI itself recommends sharing a masked version.
What SahiScan does
Pick or photograph the card. The app reads the number, covers the first eight digits, and shows you the result before anything is saved.
The details that matter
- Nothing is written until you confirm the masked image looks right. If detection missed a digit and the app saved anyway, it would leak the exact number you were trying to protect - a worse outcome than not offering the tool at all.
- The card is never uploaded and we never see the number. Nothing about it is sent anywhere, and no copy of it is kept.
