Crop a PDF
Take the white borders off, so the writing fills the page.
The problem
You photographed an A4 sheet and most of the picture is desk. The file uploads fine and then the person reading it sees a page where the writing is the size of a stamp.
What SahiScan does
Open the PDF and tap once. The app finds where the ink is on every page and keeps that, and the sliders are there for the edges you want to decide yourself.
The details that matter
- The trim is worked out from the tightest page, not the average. One rectangle is applied to the whole document, so a margin measured on a generous page would cut into a page that had less to spare.
- Every page comes out the same size as every other, on purpose. A portal that checks dimensions checks them page by page, so a document whose pages disagree can fail a check the untrimmed original passed.
- A small margin is left behind rather than cropping flush to the first dark pixel, which would shave the descenders off the outer line of text. A page with no margin at all reads as damaged, not trimmed.
- The crop hides the margin rather than cutting it away, so the words on the page stay text you can select and search, and the file barely changes size. A damaged file the app cannot read that way is still cropped, as pictures of its pages.
